The Universty of Tokyo recommends the candidates selected through internal screening processes to the various foundations.

1.Private Foundation Scholarships (University Recommendation)

IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT PRIVATE FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS (UNIVERSITY RECOMMENDATION)

In our university, we have 2 types of scholarship: “Direct Application Type” and “University Recommendation Type”.

Regarding “University Recommendation” scholarships, when you are nominated as a candidate from our graduate school,

you will be a representative of our university. This means you cannot give up the selection.

Please read through the following carefully if you are thinking of applying for a “University Recommendation” scholarship.

1. You cannot withdraw from the selection.

2. Even if you get sick, you will not be allowed to withdraw from the selection process without prior notice to the International Student Section.
Make sure to notify us IMMEDIATELY when you find that you cannot attend selection (interview etc) because of poor health.

3. Applying for more than 2 “University Recommendation” scholarships will not be accepted. Choose one of them.

4. You can try the “Direct Application” scholarships during the screening of “University Recommendation” scholarship you have applied,

however, you will not be able to withdraw from the “University Recommendation” scholarship once you are selected. So please make
sure to check beforehand whether a scholarship which you wish to apply for can be combined or not. If not, you will have to decline the offer

from any other scholarship supports when you are selected.

5. If you receive the result from the foundation directly prior to the notice from the International Student Section, please inform us immediately.

MEXT Scholarship (Embassy Recommendation)

We have already closed for issuance of the “Letter of Provisional Acceptance for 2024” for Japanese Government MONBUKAGAKUSHO: MEXT) Scholarship.

 

MEXT Scholarship (University Recommendation)

Currently International Program in Agricultural Development Studies (IPADS) is the only course that accepts MEXT international students (University Recommendation).
