Our laboratory conducts research on evolutionary ecology and community ecology. The organisms studied vary depending on the student, but invertebrates are the main focus of our research.

Studying organisms from an ecological perspective
While knowledge about individual organisms is important, our laboratory places greater emphasis on understanding ecology, and we encourage our students to approach their research from an ecological perspective with a broader perspective.
In addition, rather than taking a passive approach, we encourage students to think for themselves about the content of their research and take a proactive approach.

Prospects for joint research and industry-academia collaboration
Students are conducting research on various organisms in the field.
The students conduct research on various organisms in the field, and the scope of their research is wide.
Research topics that are of relatively high interest to the general public include the evaluation of biodiversity, future predictions of changes in the distribution of organisms due to climate change, and the impact of invasive species on native ecosystems.
